The ETC unit hasn’t been working quite right lately. Since the inspection is already complete, let’s relocate it.
There’s hardly anywhere to mount screws, and with this integrated unit, finding a suitable location is tricky.
I drilled out the screw holes and made them flush with the surface.
Since it contacts things all over the place, the bracket keeps getting smaller and smaller.
There’s one M5 bolt under the top bridge, and that’s where I got the main mounting point.
Since one point seemed risky, I added a hook for additional support.
I also bent the sides to reinforce the bracket.
This is the initial test fit shape.
I originally planned to secure it on both sides, but since the unit has an M4 boss sticking out, I ended up using one bolt for mounting and double-sided tape.
I also did some deburring while I was at it.
After polishing and installing, it looks like this.
It sits in this gap and gets some protection that way.
This time it’s truly an integrated unit, so finding the right spot was really challenging.
The underside was pretty tight too. But from here, it should be easy to insert and remove the card.
