Bottom Case Paint Jig Fabrication – Glove Hanger

We had a lot of visitors today, probably because of the nice weather. I spent the gaps between jobs tinkering on this project.

I found some rib stock, so I cut it at 45 degrees and got it ready for welding.

Since I won’t know how it’ll work until I try it, I drilled holes randomly.

p1630115
I bent the handle 180 degrees.

p1630116
I plan to punch out a round plate with a 100 mm diameter punch and use it as a handle.
I haven’t tested whether it’ll work, but I have nearly 50 dies ranging up to about 200 mm, so I can do all sorts of things.

As usual, I applied a hole press (barelling) to it.

This rubber stopper fits into the bottom case and can be turned. And if you swap out the rubber stopper, it works with different diameters too.

p1630123
Now you can spin it around.

p1630118
The bottom case is held in place by pins that go in from both sides. I designed it with a physical lock shape.

p1630120
You have to lift it to remove it. That’s reassuring.

p1630125
You can clamp the handle in a vise,

p1630127
or hold it from the front,

p1630126
or hold it directly,

p1630129
or even stick a spray gun in it,

p1630131
and you can hang it up for storage.

Finally, we can escape that wobbly situation.

This afternoon, a package arrived from US Amazon. Nothing fancy.

I’ve been struggling for years with how to store my gloves. This solved it nicely.
