Machining for the inlay.
At this point the frame-side mounting was backwards… I didn’t notice until the next day when the switch wouldn’t fit. Yep.
Well, it’s just a matter of grinding down the weld bead with a thin grinder right to the edge. Done.
I would have liked the original spring positioned on the back… but since I basically can’t undo frame-side machining, I’m treating it as not an option.
Installed a toe cover I thought of last night.
Then polished and finished. The GSF from the other day has a champagne-gold kind of finish, but this one has a slightly glossy matte silver look to it.
Pretty satisfied. It’s a small detail, but having clean feet really feels good.
Of course I’m using a different spring, so it has a nice light, responsive feel.
