Today we’re going to do some oil-cooled maintenance.
Recently, starter motor O-ring replacement has been included as part of the package too. It’s great to be able to keep riding it in good condition for as long as possible.
The damper was in better condition than expected, nice and soft.
We polished it using an analog method. It’s electric, but… well, it comes out nice and clean.
The generator connector was in good shape too.
Lock washers and nuts that look like they’ve been reused. We’ll replace them while we’re at it.
The shaft has been polished thoroughly, so you can rest assured. Bending the lock in two places keeps it secure.
We’re replacing the engine damper. The bolts are in sharp condition.
The damper itself wasn’t in too bad a state.
It’s good to polish it. Looking at the stepped section of the case, you can see it’s experiencing fine vibrations.
With the later-model damper, the bolts are shorter and no nuts are needed, making the work much simpler and very nice.
