Before replacing the pads, we clean the caliper. This cast Brembo really doesn’t come clean easily.
It’s designed without pad springs. If the pads won’t fit, there’s no choice, but considering damage to the caliper, I think it’s okay to install them anyway.
It’s a good idea to replace the connecting bolts on this caliper from time to time.
The weak point of Swage-Line fittings: first, the fitting overall length is long.
When cleaning the caliper and such, you’ll probably twist it 45 to 90 degrees. Sometimes one loosens up.
“Huh? Wait? Something moved!” and when you look closely, “Did it loosen? Did it come out?” It gives you a scary feeling. I don’t like it because it adds more things to check.
It tightened right up.
The caliper looks clean and feels great. Let’s keep cleaning it little by little.
