First up—fork seal leaking all over the place. Budget constraints meant we’d replace just the seal. While we’re at it, let’s polish the inner tubes too.
If we finish it with an overall smooth feel, it’ll be less prone to leaking.
Our shop seals are always SKF, no exceptions.
Putting on a sack reduces the chance of anything going wrong. Lower the odds of failure and raise the odds of success.

A stepped initial-type adjuster. I see.
We insert the mandrel and cut out the spacer with a machine—it’s quick and clean if you’ve got the right equipment. Not a high-speed cutter, mind you—it’s a metal saw. Don’t mix them up.
So we swapped it out for an initial cap that was lying around. The weakest setting pulls a bit harder than before, but the strongest setting can now go 5mm further.
