Almost done.
The oil seepage from the alternator is pretty bad, so we’re replacing the rubber and applying liquid gasket.
Degreasing and roughing up the surface might help with adhesion.
Today we’re taking it easy without starting the engine.
We bundled things up to some extent, but there’s still a lot of wiring.
We removed the tray, triangle plate, and fender we made, erased the marks, cleaned up spatter and burrs—it’s surprisingly time-consuming. Being careful not to cut your hands or the wiring, keeping everything as safe as possible.
The area under the tank is a bit cleaner now.
Suzuki-specific cable ties that don’t rub might be nice.
The headlight alignment nut plate is discontinued. Since we couldn’t find one, we made it.
I eyeballed it and punched it out, but the vertical spacing ended up off. We had a punch die of the same width, but swapping it would be a hassle, so this is our service version.
The liquid gasket won’t dry, so while waiting I was cutting and pulling things out—bang, bang!
Burling is really nice—it lightens things up, looks great, and adds dimension. I really love it.
Always install reflectors. I think of “inspection-compliant equals good manners” as you get older.
Since I didn’t take photos, it looks like we haven’t done anything…
The finishing work takes the most time.
We can’t get the inspection done this week, so delivery will be next week.
