GS750 Import New Deco-mainte Newtech Oil Change and More

Let’s work on the GS750 we picked up the other day.

First, I’ll check the standard stance.
When the stem area changes, everything gets confusing…

What never changes is the upper and lower stem bearing position. I measure this location, align it after making changes, and then you’re free to customize as you like.

The press-fit allowance is so tight it practically screams to use a ball race… I wonder if the race would be better.

I’ll use the parts you specified.

It has a bit of lip action, but with this installed, grease won’t drip down.

I cut off the obstructing stopper.

(。´・ω・) Hmm? Something’s a bit rough there…

With this, the engagement is a bit shallow and I’m concerned.

I ground the inside and outside to zero tolerance, added a clearance fit, and now it’s secure.
I’ll skip the rest with just measurements.

I’m transplanting a Z1000LTD fender, but the pitch doesn’t quite match.

I thought about punching it out, but… the U-shaped form can’t be pressed.
So I tried a hand punch, but M8 and smaller sizes I don’t have…

I used a rotary tool to stretch it as cleanly as possible.

Since the width doesn’t match, I installed a spacer. I hate when collars and such fall off.

That’s how we finished it. There were various other things that looked like they might get tricky, but it seems we managed to clear them all.
