Let’s perform valve clearance adjustment.
It doesn’t happen often these days, but for when the head cover won’t come off or you want to remove it easily and smoothly.
Tap the cam machining holes and grooves *4 with a minus screwdriver or something. The gasket will escape inside and the head cover will lift up.
I was surprised—on the GR71G that hole is filled in… what was the previous one?

Overall in clean condition. There are some areas showing slight scuffing, but there’s no problem with continued use as is.
Oil management is good too. The cam chain tension is appropriate and there are no issues.
