④ Inazuma 1200 Oil-cooled Katana Oil-cooled maintenance Deco-mainte Inspection Newtech oil change Other

Let’s perform Deco-mainte.

Starting from the rear. The chain looks like it’s the original from when the bike was new. I think it’s about time to replace it.

We’ll make sure to clean the spots that can only be cleaned when removed.

I’ve adjusted the bearings.

The tire runout and balance are no problem.

The rear axle shaft is often bent. Since the manufacturer’s tolerance is quite large, we consider it OK up to the limit.

I’ve polished and cleaned the caliper support.

I’ve cleaned the rear caliper too. It has some dirt and rust that stand out.

Moving to the front. No runout or balance issues.

Cleaning and lubricating the speedometer gear and inner cable. It won’t have a dramatic effect, but I think every little bit helps.

The axle shaft is no problem.

The wheel bearings are no problem.

I’ve cleaned the caliper too. Brembo’s gold really shows the dirt.

The stroke areas get lubrication and cleaning; the upper side gets cleaning and rust prevention. Ideally, we want to keep the inner tubes working for a long time.

I’ll set the fork to atmospheric pressure.

The air filter was clean.

The side stand is really important. Just having smooth deployment and retraction gives peace of mind.

Cleaning and lubricating the throttle cable and sleeve. It was clean.

The accelerator cable was touching the cowl, and that contact felt a bit off, so I’ve suspended it with a bungee cord.

The pedal is sealed, so I’ve lubricated it from the outside.

I’ve cleaned all three brake discs.

Fluid is Golden Cruiser DOT4

I’ve adjusted the synchronization. You don’t need to be overly fussy about it.
It’s fixed by screw and spring tension. The point is it’s easy to come loose.

I apologize, but since I’m not a fan and serviceability is often poor, I’ve removed all the shared ground connections.

A relay from a certain brand.
It’s so thick it’s hard to say what gauge it is, making it difficult to use. Honestly, I don’t know what brand it is, so reliability is low. Electrical issues are really troublesome when they happen, so it’s good to use quality parts.

I basically use Mitsuba Sankowa power relay RC-2.

It might be better to avoid using fuses like this if possible.

• They have height and thickness.
• They’re not waterproof.

Motorcycles always have limited space for layout. I think it’s best to use parts that are compact, simple, reliable, and unlikely to cause trouble.

Engine oil is Newtech NC50 10W-50 and filter
I’ve changed the drain to a magnetic 17mm wrench flat.
