It handles a wide range of wire diameters—from thin to thick—and can strip them all.
It easily handles anything from about 0.5 to 3.0 SQ.
*I’ve confirmed it works on outer diameters from 1.12 to 3.54 mm.
It can’t strip the middle of a wire, so you’ll still need a conventional stripper as well, but…
I do about 98% of my wire stripping with this one.
I got my hands on this crimping plier.
So what makes choosing a crimping plier so difficult?
• Terminal sizes and manufacturers vary
• The wire diameters you use also vary
It would be really helpful if there were clear specifications saying “crimp this SQ to about this width,” but it’s not that simple.
I measure OEM harness terminals with calipers.
Then I run that wire through the crimping plier and check the clearance to figure out “this terminal goes with this one.”
I could also do a test crimp and measure it, but surprisingly, you don’t find many that end up the same.
