Just looking at the face, it’s like a GSX-R1000… totally.
Don’t you think Suzuki’s parts sharing is amazing?
That kind of approach leads to cost reduction and continued parts supply.
Wonderful! ← positive thinking.

I scrubbed the chain clean and lubricated it.

Chain case.
If someone wipes it once in a while, buildup will be reduced.

I cleaned the key groove and applied rust preventative to the cap and cleaned it.
Just wiping it occasionally feels great.

It’s been a while with plenty of grease… accumulating a bit. I cleaned it.

I also adjusted the bearings.

I think if restoration elements are added to the maintenance workflow, the bike will always stay in great condition.

I applied Gun Coat to various parts. It subtly improves the appearance.

As the beauty gradually increases, so does the attachment to it.

Honda 95011-40000 50 yen before tax
This is affordable and wonderful. For maintenance and vehicles running low, I want to replace them aggressively.

The axle shaft runout is no problem (within spec).
*The rear often has quite a bit of runout. (But still within spec.)

Front fork cleaning. If you apply rust preventative and wipe the area between the top and stem, I think it will resist rust.
For the stroke area, I apply fork oil, remove debris, and wipe it clean.
Just occasional cleaning can help reduce vertical scratches and wear a bit.

I cleaned the calipers. The return felt a bit sluggish.
It might be worth considering an overhaul in the future.

Regarding pad grease, if you’re feeling the effect, that’s a plus.
However, if you’re using it as a precaution, it’s not so great.
The area around the caliper piston becomes quite greasy, which means dusty.
Grease also accumulates in the piston’s inner grooves, making cleaning difficult.
It might be good to choose carefully and use selectively.

The lever and pedal had plenty of grease applied. I cleaned, lubricated, and reassembled them.

It’s best to replace lock nuts with new ones whenever possible for peace of mind.
Why are lock nuts used? Safety is what matters.

I also cleaned and lubricated the throttle and cable.

This battery charger is wonderful! You can check the current battery level, which is incredibly helpful.
Today the S1000XR’s battery died suddenly after an oil change and I panicked, but… checking the level with this charger showed it was barely hanging on. Very grateful for it.
Could it be that it becomes scarce due to supply chain issues?
If you’re on the fence, go for it!

I also replaced the coolant. The radiator cap was fine, so I reused it.
Even if the fluid is used for a year, replacing it every two years is a safe bet.

The air filter was fine, so I reused it.

The brake fluid was quite discolored.
CCI Golden Cruiser DOT4 has been used for replacement.

It’s good to check the fuses during inspection and maintenance.
Sometimes there are no spares…
or severe corrosion… electricity is scary, so…

The engine oil has been replaced with Newtech NC50.
Replacing the drain bolt when it gets dirty enough gives you a refreshed feeling!
The inspection and maintenance are now complete.
