| To prevent the spread of COVID-19, the validity period of vehicle inspection certificates for all vehicles nationwide whose validity period expires between February 28 and March 31, 2020, will be extended to April 30, 2020. |
Regarding COVID-19, it is extremely important to prevent clusters from generating new clusters in order to bring the epidemic to an early end, and comprehensive measures must be implemented.
When a vehicle owner wishes to continue using a vehicle after the validity period of the vehicle inspection certificate expires, they must undergo a continuous inspection conducted by the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. However, it is necessary to implement infection prevention measures urgently, and especially during the busy end-of-fiscal-year period, an unspecified number of applicants concentrate at transport bureau windows nationwide, increasing the risk of infection spread. Therefore, applying the provisions of Article 61-2 of the Road Transport Vehicle Act, we are extending the validity period of vehicle inspection certificates and are notifying you of this public notice issued today.
○ Target vehicles
All vehicles whose vehicle inspection certificate validity period expires on February 28 through March 31
○ Measure details
Vehicle inspection certificate validity period extended to April 30
○ Continuous inspection procedures
For target vehicles, you may continue to use your vehicle if you undergo continuous inspection by April 30.
Note that no procedure to change the vehicle inspection certificate record due to the validity period extension is necessary.
○ Motor vehicle liability insurance (mutual aid) procedures (special measures for contract conclusion)
For insurance contracts whose coverage period ends before you undergo continuous inspection, the procedures for concluding renewal contracts are deferred up to April 30.
For details, please consult with your motor vehicle liability insurance (mutual aid) agent or representative.
