The headlight bulb was delayed, but it arrived yesterday, so I’ll install it.

The customer wanted this one, so I arranged it.
To be honest, I was a bit skeptical about it.
There’s a rule: coated bulbs don’t put out as much light.
But maybe that’s old news now. Looking at the catalog, it seems pretty impressive.
There’s definitely a difference between what the tester reads as high light output (orange-ish) and what the human eye perceives as bright (whitish).
But our tester is pretty old.
Newer ones can pick up properly whitish bulbs too.
Please take this as a reference from an old tester.

I’m measuring with one eye covered because it’s a pain to hide.
A standard clear bulb from Stanley reads about 29,000 CD.

This time it’s the PIAA MB111.
It reads about 24,000 CD on our old tester.

Looking at the color, it’s clearly more whitish, which might mean better visibility.
Try riding it at night.
By the way, our tester barely picks up LEDs and only shows numbers like a moped would.
I’m not sure if this is helpful or not, and I apologize for the ambiguity.

I fill the oil filter with oil, let it soak in, return the excess, and then install it.
The oil was pretty dirty.

A good thing about GSXR models:
If this hole is tight, don’t force the installation.
This expensive damper will snap.

Loosen the upper cowl stay bolts a bit
and use the play to your advantage—it can actually work out pretty well.
If it’s bent from a crash, that’s tough, but otherwise, it’s just a test ride and we’re done!
