Four-cylinder, 750cc, American?
Both the owner and I used to wonder what kind of riders would buy a bike like this back when we were younger.
But once you actually ride it, the footpegs are well-positioned, the speed and acceleration feel just right, and with those thin tires, the handling is light and nimble—it’s really fun!
Maybe as you get older, your taste in bikes mellows out?
Electrical troubles always scare me every time.
This Z750LTD had given us electrical trouble headaches before—it’s the same bike.
Well, at least we figured it out.
Nowadays, handlebar switches are plastic, so I suppose they’re designed with the possibility in mind that internal parts could come loose and cause a short.
We changed the engine oil to ELF MOTO4 RACE.
The HI beam won’t turn off problem was caused by the pass switch moving sluggishly—if you happened to touch it at the wrong moment, it would stay pressed.
We disassembled it and applied some lubricant.
We replaced the bulbs with BA9S LEDs.
Removing bulbs from old bikes is tough—the rubber on the sockets often doesn’t hold its shape, and they’re usually rock-hard.
Lately, we keep just the neutral light as a traditional bulb.
Maybe the age of gentler LEDs will come someday.
The back of the meter really shines bright with LEDs—it looks great!
