The light output is so intense that the measurement range is at the lower end of the scale.

Our headlight tester doesn’t support new light sources, so the reading comes out lower than it actually is.
I’d guess it’s probably putting out somewhere between 65,000 and 75,000 candelas.
The inspection pass line is 15,000 candelas or higher, so you can see just how ridiculously high this number is.
Larger headlights tend to produce higher readings.
We’re entering an era where headlight relays are no longer necessary.
