Research takes forever and gets nowhere…
I got it back to the original state, but it was already defective to begin with.
This kind of thing happens almost every day.
I find myself constantly thinking about how efficient it would be if we could just order normally, disassemble, clean, inspect, reassemble, and call it done.
Parts that have been modified and aren’t original, mysteries to solve.
Consumables that are discontinued and unobtainable when you order them.
Bolts that break, threads that strip, progress that stalls—there’s always something, right?
I feel like situations where nothing can be done and work can’t proceed are increasing year after year.
More time has passed than we realize, and I’m acutely aware that the motorcycle itself is aging.
Just like people, machines experience things like “not staying young forever” and “getting old”—I want people to understand that.
I can really feel the passion of wanting to keep a beloved bike running for a long time, since it’s a hobby.
And it’s important to realize that loving it even through that aging process requires a generous—or should I say, deep—budget to some degree, and understanding that is crucial.
When original parts are discontinued, we hunt for alternatives, but honestly it’s not easy at all.
We can manage with standard parts like bearings, metal, and oil seals, but most things are beyond our reach.
When we do find something, it’s incredibly satisfying, but then I wonder, “Will the same issue come up next time?” pretty often.
If you plan to ride long-term, I’d say it’s wise to stock up on various parts or go with aftermarket options.
