Just then, a customer with a 250 Katana came by and showed us their original seat.
Hmm… it was completely different from what we expected.
We’re investigating the mysterious fastener… probably looks like a kit?

Hmm… the latch fits into the original hole. You can open and close it with the key just like this.
That’s fantastic…
This fastener secures the tail cowl.
It’s a CB-F-style approach.
No frame modifications needed, which makes it easier… This seat is kind of an invention (*’▽’)

We decided to use sheet metal spot welds to create tabs for securing the tank, side covers, and seat front.
We made them as large as possible to make machining easier. We’ll add reinforcement at the end anyway, so we’re in good shape (‘ω’)ノ
Positioning this tank is pretty tedious work.
Getting the gaps between the seat and side covers just right is tricky.
It’s lucky that the bodywork isn’t from a 1100.
I want to grow these bolt mounts from the base. I want to keep frame modifications to a minimum since we’d have to strip the paint anyway…
It’s starting to look a bit more like a Katana now.
I have a feeling we’re going to run into stem clearance issues… ( ；∀；)
