Is cosmetic surgery to get that Katana face becoming a trend? We saw it on the SV650 too. Amazing.
The carburettor got clogged, so we’re doing an OH.
Popped the carburettor body off.
The body corrosion is relatively minimal and it looks clean.
Loosen the carburettor with an electric impact driver as much as possible.
We strip bolts all the time too, but using an impact driver really cuts down on that happening.
Watch out for the shock driver after stripping one. Applying impact means you’re putting shock on the body. The cast body is old now. We want to avoid the risk of cracks or pieces breaking off as much as we can.
*The point is, if you use the right tools, you actually save time and get better results.
Looks like the float arm was adjusted. We’ll check on that later.
The float valve definitely needs replacing (‘ω’)ノ Only one? Yeah, one’s been replaced.
It was in pretty sharp condition and working well…
This time we didn’t request polishing, so we’re finishing with standard cleaning only.
You can feel that all the parts are getting old. Honestly, if we don’t tear down the four-carb setup, something’s going to happen.
