The customer also wanted a pipe-like part to insert the tank breather.
Would the RK OEM part work? → It’s discontinued (；∀；).
After much deliberation, removing the meter and switching to a plate and pipe setup is tedious.
I found a spot where I could easily and cleanly install it, so now it’s just a matter of pushing forward.
The round bar is recessed for a flush fit, and it’s mounted to the handlebar clamp.
The right throttle cable slack issue remains unresolved.
Starting with the easier left side…
I peel off the remaining adhesive thoroughly and use 3M non-slip tape to secure it.
With a thin grip, it’s barely noticeable, and it makes grip replacement easier next time too.
And now it looks more contemporary.
The battery was mounted like this.
Since the battery is difficult to remove, the sponge on the left side is just inserted.
Removing it provides good access.
If you’re changing from the stock setup, serviceability is extremely important.
The titanium cap can be opened and closed with a minus screwdriver.
And it also serves as a knob to lift it. (That was a happy accident…)
The fuse box and ETC are mounted on the titanium plate. Peel and stick them on.
Definitely a convenient tape: 3M Dual Lock SJ4570
It’s hard to find in retail, but the adhesive tape shop on Rakuten is the best in terms of shipping costs and free shipping thresholds (*^-^*)
Even with the seat on, there’s no interference anywhere, so you’re all set (*’▽’)
