I thought those older guys must have money if they could paint their helmets.
That’s what I felt back then.
After someone I knew painted one for me, I started to really appreciate having an original helmet.

When I watch bikes pulling into a parking lot, what strikes me is…
they all look the same…
White or black, maybe silver, and jackets are usually brands you’ve seen before.
The choices are limited, and the lifespan isn’t that long anyway, so it can’t be helped.
But isn’t that striking appearance also important?
Does the importance of your gear increase even more?
It’s there to protect your body.
You want to care for your jacket, gloves, boots, and helmet more than anything else, right?
Riding with this helmet? The bike is nice, but…
it just feels like such a waste.
I’m not saying everyone should paint theirs, but wouldn’t it be nice to always have that mindset of polishing it up a bit?

Lately, I’ve
upgraded to a decent smartphone, so now I can take decent quality photos.
It adds to the fun of being able to snap a picture whenever I go out.
If you’re thinking, “I never got the chance to paint a helmet…”
maybe it’s worth doing it thinking it’s your last chance? *Though I’m not sure what ‘last’ means.*
Of course, if your budget is tight, it’s difficult.
The cost easily adds up to one or two helmet prices.
