First, I’ll check the original timing.
After a long time away, I always think… wait, how do I do this again? Am I the only one?
I mill and use a circular tool to create elongated holes in the cam sprocket.
I only adjust it about 4 degrees. Since the Yoshimura cam is high quality, this adjustment range is sufficient.
Once the setup is done, each spot takes less than 5 minutes. It’s all about tools and equipment…
You can’t do this with a diamond file.
The Harizo-kun jig I made the other day (or was it a while ago?) plus some additions is really convenient.
It’s eliminated those moments where your hand or knee bumps something and you go “Argh!!!”
Having solid positioning and quick setup is wonderful… it’s all about the tools… the tools.
I’ll replace the rocker arm and slider while I’m at it.
