I’m not particularly a huge Makita fan (/・ω・)/
Well, unless you’re a pretty heavy user, you wouldn’t buy it.
Generally, usage frequency is low. But at our place it’s high, so it’s really useful!
Temperature control, power, and rapid heating honestly can’t match 100V models.
However, it’s not at a level where it’s unusable—it’s at a practical level with no issues. In fact, I think it’s extremely practical.
If you need power that seems like it would melt things, this might not be suitable for you.
It’s good to think carefully about your intended use.
In my case
・Shrink tubing
・Removing inspection stickers
are the main two uses.
Heating objects is almost never needed—about 80% shrink tubing.
I really think about how convenient it is without a cord….
It’s quite lightweight and very easy to use (*´Д｀)
The only thing I noticed is that the switch lock is difficult to operate with one hand.
Otherwise, it’s excellent.
Most importantly, the fact that it “stands” is really great.
This alone gives you more workspace, and you don’t have to worry about the nozzle touching something. You can grab it with one quick action, so transitioning to the next task is speedy.
It’s truly a long-awaited feature, I’d say.

There are various optional attachments available depending on your application.
By choosing a nozzle that matches your preferences, the range of work you can do is completely different.
If a cordless, rapid-heating soldering iron comes out, I definitely want one.
A cordless soldering iron could be possible if it charges while the iron is resting.
Then, before picking up the iron from the charger, you heat it to the desired temperature and remove it.
By doing this, the battery only needs to maintain the temperature, so you could make a smaller, lighter unit.
Maybe if I search I’ll find one…but I’m waiting for information (*’ω’*)
