“Recommended for wiring pros” – High usage frequency. Makita HG181D Cordless Heat Gun
I can’t go back to 100V anymore… that’s the feeling.
However, this is just my personal situation.
It doesn’t have the intense, scorching output of a 100V heat gun.
But the cordless feature is truly a powerful weapon (*´з`)
I always use it at maximum heat and wind speed.
My uses are limited to shrink tubing and removing inspection stickers – I don’t use it for bending PVC pipes.
Compared to 100V, I do feel a lack of power.
However, for shrink tubing and sticker removal, you don’t need as much heat as 100V provides.
It’s more than sufficient for what I need.
The two included nozzles are sufficient.
With these, you can handle almost everything.
The benefit of moving around without worrying about cords.
When working on bikes, a 100V power source becomes a real nuisance.
Since I move around to different spots while working, I have to relocate all the power setup each time.
It’s the same repetitive hassle over and over…
There’s also the risk of snagging the cord on something.
I really felt this year how incredibly convenient it is to not have a cord.

Makita professional grade, as expected.
It’s well thought out.
I really recommend it for those who do a lot of wiring work or frequently use shrink tubing.
Don’t expect 100V-level output.
It might heat up if you give it time, but it feels slow.
