Work is progressing steadily.
The silencer is protruding, so the customer wants to do something about it.
The silencer bracket is contacting the tandem step, so we’ll do what we can.
We cut 10 mm to address it.
If the customer wants to go further,
tail pipe shortening or tandem step offset is essential.
Replaced the spark plugs.
#4 is still acting a bit off.
The plug wires are stiff too, so we might replace them when the timing is right.
*They’re press-fit wires, so only if I feel like it.
Disassembled and lubricated the levers.
It’s close to 33–34 mm. Making it a bit shorter might improve the feel.
Lubricated the throttle area.
You should really avoid rubber-mounted bar ends…
I’m not the only one who thinks they shouldn’t sell these things!
Thankfully, decent designs have finally started showing up recently.
While we had it off, we cleaned up the step plate.
Also replaced the shift rubber. A fresh one makes shifting feel great.
Lubricated both pedals left and right.
This really makes it look much younger (*´ω｀*)
Time for an oil change. It takes over 4 liters, which is great!
Maybe I should refuse jobs that need 2.5 liters or less…is that okay?
Label the oil filter so you don’t forget the brand.
We also replaced the drain gasket and filler cap O-ring.
Since the bike is old, it’s good to check the alternator and ground terminals.
Just disconnecting and reconnecting them can have a positive effect.
It’s surprisingly discolored, so polishing both sides will make it look even better.
Checked the air cleaner element with an endoscope.
It’s a bit dirty but still okay. We’ll keep using it.
Replaced the brake fluid!
We reused the fuse and replaced the bleeder cap. The license plate hardware is installed. All that’s left is the inspection!
