I think it’s a great bike in terms of both design and functionality.

Let me move right along with this.
Orders have been crazy lately!
Starting with whether parts are even in stock…
Then there’s delivery times, shipping costs, and so much more to think about and research.
I think to myself every day how incredibly analog this all is.
I want to clean the calipers.
By removing them and retracting the pistons, you can see the current condition.
This one has a Moriwaki collector attached…
That matte black finish is surprisingly stubborn to work with.
If you mask it with that wrap tape, you can work on it smoothly!

As long as it has that velcro backing and is soft,
anything works.
Lately, everyone’s been going with this Nissin (single-piston)
Whether it’s for cost or because it’s sufficient for the job,
single-piston“single-piston”calipers have really increased on the rear.
The workability isn’t bad, so I don’t dislike them.
And lately, only anodized calipers exist, so
they move really smoothly (*´ω｀*)
*Because there’s less internal corrosion
For single-piston calipers, smooth sliding is everything!
They need to move smoothly.
Replacing the boots periodically is even more effective.
It was clean with just a light coating of dust.
I cleaned the pad springs nicely ♪
Pad grease is better used only when you can feel it working.
No grease and it squeaks → apply it → squeaking stops → keep using it
No grease and it squeaks → apply it → no change → wipe it off immediately and don’t use it again
Just applying it to everything is honestly questionable.
It drips from the heat and gets on the caliper piston area too, making things really dirty.
It’s best not to use it at all.
I changed the coolant.
Rust builds up, so ideally you want to change it at least once every two years.
The radiator cap should still be fine.
I did a full brake fluid change on all three calipers ♪
The brake feel should be solid now!
