Spring breakage leads to stopper loss
You definitely want to install genuine Yoshimura parts properly.

This applies to aftermarket mufflers in general
it’s good to replace the spring after a certain amount of mileage.

The washers and gaskets also become all worn out…
Don’t ignore it—get the parts while they’re still available.
