Poor piston operation = dust seal deformation and body corrosion
The dust seal deforms and constantly contacts the piston, so both extension and retraction become sluggish.
When the caliper piston doesn’t move well, overhaul and cleaning with seal replacement is the only option.
The center part just won’t come out no matter what…
The inner diameter is solid and the wall is thick, so I removed it with a bearing puller.
A bearing puller works better when you don’t apply it directly —it’s gentler that way.
An inexpensive puller is sufficient.
The gunk and corrosion are unbelievable! First, let’s remove it~
Wet blasting alone won’t work right away, so I’ll grind it off with a Nakanishi.
