The pivot shaft won’t come out no matter what.
There’s a limit to how much I can hammer it, and there’s a high risk of damaging the inside of the frame.
“No way! Absolutely not! Brute force” is my motto, so I’m working gently.
Wednesday is “MK2 Day,” but… I’m feeling unsettled.
I just can’t feel satisfied.
Nothing progresses without removing the shaft.
The shaft removal work is definitely time-consuming, so I decided to move forward when no one’s around.
I’m making Center Hole Maker No. 12 for the shaft.
This time I’m expanding it to 9mm, so I made it a two-piece structure.
I made the outer diameter to fit snugly in the pivot hole.
The image shows quite a bit of progress, but expanding by 0.5mm at a time is making me feel dizzy…

By inserting it as deep as possible, it shouldn’t wobble (hopefully).
As flush as possible, as little wobble as possible.
If I cut corners here, I’ll probably end up in pain.
I’m going to proceed carefully and steadily to definitely extract it this time.
I’m going to cut threads with M10-P1.00
I want to cut the threads as straight as possible, so I’m using a nut to keep it reasonably straight while cutting.
It was a huge help having it fairly open (*´ω｀*)
Once the threads formed, it started to look right.
I won’t use it once the shaft is removed, but…
The setup is done and I’m excited.
Now I’m going to machine another collar.
The first one is to avoid putting stress on the pivot
I’m making the collar stepped so it doesn’t put stress on the pivot.
Basically, I made sure it won’t tilt at all.

The head came out! That’s hydraulics for you.
With hydraulics, if you rush through the process, things get worse, so be careful.
A hydraulic punch is really useful when you need it.
As a result, “pulling force” but basically it’s “pushing.”
The center where the shaft is inserted is fixed, and the piston comes out from around it, so it becomes “pulling force.”
Interesting, right?
It’s also extremely excellent for drilling holes in sheet metal (*´ω｀*)
Phew~ at least it worked out~ victory is assured… I’m so relieved~ so relieved~
I’m looking forward to seeing how rusty the shaft and collar are.
