It felt like a considerable amount of time had passed, but…
it’s only been just over a month. I got oddly reassured (that’s bad).

There’s also a request to have the muffler gun-coated…
The flow of “no packing box = deliver to the coating shop = go pick it up” is a sure thing.

Should we cut it? Should we just cut it?
That was the kind of Friday exchange we had (*´ω｀*)hehe

I said I’d cut it, but… how should I cut it?

It turned out I can’t cut it with a contour saw due to budget constraints…
Sander? Hacksaw? Air saw?
Ideally, I’d like to cut it cleanly and neatly in one go…

Huffing and puffing while chucking the metal saw blade, I found the sweet spot where the blade cuts all the way through!
I successfully cut it in one shot (*´ω｀*)whew

Let’s expand the pipe!

I expand the pipe with a flare tool.
Back in the day, I got this from a certain muffler shop on Yahoo Auctions.
I’m glad I bought it—it’s one of those tools I’m really happy to have. I love tools.

Let’s fit them together!

If I mark and grind to get the angle just right, welding should be easier.
We’re proceeding with the cut-to-joint strategy.

Let’s switch the oil-cooled exhaust pipe mounting to studs

The layout on the undertube side is tight.
I bought a long tap and poked around… poked around…
I’ll finish it so it goes in smoothly by hand, then insert the stud bolt.
