In a way, a new oil-cooled Katana? GSX1200S Inspection Deco-mainte

I thought it’s been a while since I’ve seen an oil-cooled Katana.
Everyone’s inspection timing is the same, and occasionally we get a massive outbreak of Inazuma 1200 oil-cooled Katanas.

We’ve already obtained the inspection certificate, so today we’ll breeze through the Deco-mainte.

We’ll lubricate the handlebar controls.

The mileage hasn’t progressed much, so the condition was very good.
I also lubricated the throttle cable and choke cable.

The spark plugs can be reused, but the air filter might be worth replacing.

The air filter is still pure white, but it has a very strong gasoline smell.
The owner has some in stock, so we can replace it when the timing is right.
The spark plugs were clean, so we’ll reuse them.

It’s good to check the battery and fuse area occasionally.

Polishing the battery terminals will improve conductivity a bit.
For example, if you’ve never checked the fuses on a used car, I’d recommend replacing them once.

We’ll remove the wheels and check the undercarriage.

The axle shaft was fine. (Of course…)

The wheel bearings and hub damper area were also in good condition.

I checked the tire surface all around. There were no nails or foreign objects stuck in it.
Would B-Motor stab it here? (´∀`*)ufufu

The wheel runout is fine.
I wonder what the red tape in two places means…

We’ll clean and check the brake calipers.

Both front and rear were in very good working condition.
Very good indeed.

Degreasing the brake disc occasionally will improve the feel.
This one has slitted discs so it’s not a big deal, but the hole type ones accumulate quite a bit of debris.

We replaced the brake fluid.
The rear hydraulic switch is broken, so we’ll replace that too.

That’s how it continues.
