I prefer to use batteries that are “sealed/MF type” as much as possible.
With open-type batteries,
“electrolyte refilling” and “hydrogen gas and sulfuric acid hazards” often lead to hassle and dirt corrosion.
It seems they installed a brand new open-type battery when I purchased it,
but I’ll replace it right away.

With MF, “terminals and surrounding areas don’t corrode” = clean
It’s reassuring to keep the area around the battery clean.
With open-type batteries, the terminal area corrodes quite a bit, which doesn’t feel good.
Of course, as corrosion progresses, electrical conductivity deteriorates, so there’s nothing good about it.
If you don’t have any particular preference, I think MF is the way to go.
Looking at it closely like this, it would be even better to replace the terminal area as well.
It’s fine to replace the battery without being stingy every 2 years or so
For the battery manufacturer, I choose “a brand that hasn’t caused problems based on past experience.” After all, having a car battery die is really troublesome.
I used to use AC Delco batteries on motorcycles too,
but lately AGM gel batteries have come out, so I haven’t used them recently.

With cars, since the capacity is larger, over-discharging is less likely to cause damage, which might be why.
At current prices, you can buy a battery for around 7,000 yen, so
replacing it with a new one every 2 or 3 years might be a good idea, I think.
This time, I replaced the brand new open-type battery with a brand new MF battery,
and the starter feels much more powerful.
The newly purchased battery has been properly pre-charged,
but even so, the weak start is completely gone.
For just 7,000 yen, getting this much peace of mind is really wonderful.
When both cars and motorcycles have fully charged batteries,
the starter and ignition become more powerful.
If you’re thinking it’s getting cold and a bit uncertain,
just replacing the battery will make your bike and car feel great to ride.
I’m not sure, but buying a new car quietly costs a lot of money, I must say.
