Let’s remove this mysterious step
After removing it, I noticed… something happened in the past. . .
It was all bent out of shape.
The shift side was “down-down” which was a bit awkward with the side stand and spring nearby.
With Itou’s new step, it becomes “up-up” so there’s more layout clearance.
I’m a bit concerned about the sandwich-style torque rod boss on the brake side. .
Let’s proceed with the simpler shift side first.
The shift side was installed at lightning speed.
I was thinking I’d work on other bikes after installing the brake side, but…
The torque rod boss plate can’t be reused…
I thought it would just stay as is, but this is a common custom bike thing.
Two options:
・Make an avoidance plate
・Weld boss to swing arm→shorten torque rod
Since it looks like I’ll get deeper into this, I’ll proceed with fabrication.
Since we’re not a custom shop, materials are limited
Super tight… I found a 2017 and gave it a try!
After a long time“Switch to a thin contour blade and it breaks…”I’m too lazy to weld the blade so I’ll just push through. . .
That was the end of Golden Week for us.
Originally +5mm 15mm thick=the nut won’t fit on the back so I milled out a relief.
I finished it straight and simple without fussing (*´ω｀*)

Oh no… the brake hose won’t reach. . .
There seems to be a dedicated brake switch, but…
