I was asked to replace the pro arm bearing on a VFR400R (NC30), but… wait, I don’t have this tool on hand… Well, that makes sense—it’s a 400 after all. There’s no way I’d have it.
So I checked the manual and found it was Honda OEM 07908-4690001 (discontinued). (´；∀；) Should I just turn down the job? Well, I decided to search for an alternative tool.
I could have made it in the old days, but… these days, buying is the best option.
I have a lathe and milling machine, so manufacturing is possible. However, when you factor in material costs and time, buying is the best option.
The reason is “there are affordable, quick, and quality reproduction tools” which I’ve been curious about for a while now— “Koshihara.” This was the perfect timing to try them out.
The drive is 1/2 inch.
It costs 3,449 yen plus shipping, but it’s super reasonable. The black finish gives it quite an authentic OEM look.

Koshihara OEM reproduction tools have high expectations
You can’t remove it without this type of tool. Most OEM tools are discontinued, so this is really helpful.
