Nissin 4-Piston 30/34 Caliper Overhaul

Quickly took it apart and split it open (*´ω｀*)
Since it’s so clean, the work goes fast and that’s a real help.

Anodized calipers really don’t corrode much, so they’re definitely the way to go~

Even though it’s been disassembled before, it’s in remarkably good condition (*´ω｀*)

The seals that were removed maintained their shape and were in great condition too.
Being able to request an overhaul before things go bad is truly impressive (*´ω｀*)

Black and suspicious-looking pad pins are attached.
And they don’t seem worn at all… *How much they’ve been used is unclear
If they resist rust and wear slowly, that’s pretty excellent isn’t it…

I’ll have to ask which manufacturer makes them next time. This could be really good.

In distribution, people are always involved, so inspect as much as you can.

Aluminum pistons and titanium bolts are reused

These titanium bolts have a bad feel when tightening, don’t they… *By our standards

After cleaning, complete drying (*´ω｀*) Air duster is the best♪

We make sure to completely dry the calipers after cleaning before assembling them.
The work progresses quickly and the assembly feel is just perfect.

Oh, that air duster from Amazon I mentioned the other day is just too good
The air volume is unbelievable for this size, yet it’s mobile-friendly.
While it’s cooling and drying, you can work on other things, making it even more time-efficient.

Recently I’ve been soaking them in fluid first (*´ω｀*)

Soaking in fluid → metal rubber combo is a sure thing ( *´艸｀)
It’s hard to say, but with domestic brands, metal rubber alone might be fine,
but with Brembo and APRACING, soaking seems to make the pistons move better *By our standards

So that’s how we think about our methods day by day, based on feel and wishful thinking.

Assembled and “Vacuum~” bled the air, and it works perfectly from 1mm in.
When the seals are new, “dead stroke” or play is reduced, so the brakes become more reliable.
