Was GSXR the most popular back then? GSXR1100M Inspection Small maintenance work

I have the urge to change the drive chain to 520.
The 520 definitely makes pushing and pulling super light.

It’s an impression of a size suited for people who can manage it properly. Depending on how you use it, it’s great.
Recently, the mainstream chain size for large production motorcycles has been shifting to 525.

I only use DID chains. Sorry about that.
After all, when checking the initial stretch, the “stretch difference” is overwhelmingly stable (from then to now)

The larger this “stretch difference” is, the sooner it reaches “replacement time” before rolling issues come up.
Since I’ve only ever used DID, I can’t say for certain, but “stability is rock solid” for sure.

• Chain is DID 520ZVM-X
• Front sprocket Sunstar 333-14T
• Rear sprocket RKM03PS-45T
  

The final ratio is 15-48 (3.200) on the original, so I chose 14-45 (3.214) as a close approximation.

Even with a size reduction, the chain line doesn’t change.
530→520 both become thinner, so the distance from the mounting surface is the same front and rear.
However, one thing to watch out for is that the sprockets become thinner = insufficient thickness and you need to check this.

Sunstar sprockets have a convex shape to ensure the thickness that’s been reduced.
*RK is 520 thickness and completely flat, so when adapting, check the thickness front and rear. (It should be fine most of the time)

Basically I lubricate thoroughly and then use an impact driver to remove it, but… it won’t budge… it won’t budge…
I think this might be a bit dangerous and I proceed carefully without rushing.

As a result, it came off safely! Phew

I thought I should have gone with one size smaller for just loosening, but this one turned out to be the right choice

I think I wouldn’t have been able to remove it without this. At worst, I was ready to deploy a 1000mm 3/4 ratchet
Removal is really important.

Remove the original microcapsules and use liquid thread locker for stable torque management.

Since it’s applied generously, when you’re tightening stiff = higher torque output so be a bit careful.

Always show love to the threads
Since I don’t know when it’ll be opened next, and if someone else works on it, clean threads make it easier.
