The other day, when I was making a trimmer grip, I suddenly thought to myself.
“Since the shaft diameter is the same,”
the parts of each attachment are also compatible.
Since I only have three end tools,
I imagined
all sorts of crazy mods
As always,
I’m sharing ideas that might work or might not,
hoping they spark some inspiration.

Attachment shaft diameter: 24 mm
This 24 mm is subtly important—
you’ll want to know the dimensions.
And also,
high-power torque models
have shafts thicker than 24 mm, so watch out.
Brush cutter standards are tricky too.

Shaft-side clamp: 24 mm
Handle-side clamp: 16 mm
The shaft is common with the MUX18DZ,
so it can be clamped. (*´ω`*)
I’m not sure why the handle is 16 mm?
I think thicker would definitely be better…
And then…

The handle is split left and right.
The one in the photo is already modified.
There’s a protrusion in the center of the clamp.
To pass it through, I had to grind it down.
*For a clean job, use a lathe.

Now I can attach a 16 mm clamp.
I can play around with 16 mm handles.

I tried attaching a wheel to a chip saw.
This looks surprisingly fun~
But then…
“The angle is awkward.”

This one has a solid angle built in from the body.
It’s not that easy after all.

Oh wow~
Just adding a wheel makes it
look like a new product?
This one also has a small wheel,
and the angle is tricky.

Using such a strange contraption might
be nothing but a dream.

Oh!
By the way, Makita
has a safety design where
the wheel position is locked on the shaft.
I think it would be easier
if there was more integration with the body~
That’s the kind of
strange stuff I was thinking about.
Expandability tickles the user’s sense of play.
