So I rushed and took it apart.

Bang! Crash! Before you start hitting, proper prep work is important.

The upper and lower stem area has severe corrosion, so I have the urge to clean it up.
You could use a chisel to remove it, but I’d prefer not to be rough…
I’ll use a Kawasaki OEM puller with a nice shape to pull it out.
By the way, manufacturer OEM special tools are amazing.
They’re hardened and robust, and they’re worth the price.

Since it’s a tapered roller, remove the guide and roller
and hook it on the upper step.
Lubricate well before working and it goes smoothly.

The history of past replacements shows up.
If you fix some of the damage, you’ll be confident for next time too.


Remove the cowl stay.
I can’t remember every wiring and cable layout.
If I keep photos, they become a helpful reference (*´ω`*)


Remove unnecessary stays.
Set it in the contour and remove it, then use Versan and it pops right off
I took it to the paint shop.
