Burtle Fan Jacket: “Short sleeve (vest) or long sleeve?” Which one feels cooler? (‘Д’)

I don’t have a day without wearing an air-conditioned jacket (fan jacket).

Now that we’re getting into the season, I think summer items are going on sale soon.
Though sizes are probably limited…

After using them normally every day, comparing “long sleeve and short sleeve (vest),” which one feels cooler?
I’d like to share my personal impressions.
If you’re considering an air-conditioned jacket now or for next year, please use this as a reference.

Surprisingly important! “Polyester or cotton?”

Naturally, 100% polyester feels more humid.
No matter how much ventilation there is, it still feels stuffy and hot (subjective).

When even a little cotton is blended in, the feel against your skin becomes “smooth”
and doesn’t feel unpleasant.
If you just want to reduce the heat, “cotton blend/cotton” is better.

Also, if you’re doing work that gets wet, it’s better to choose polyester.

“Long sleeve” is wrapped in air overall, which is nice ♪

You can feel the wind flowing out from the cuff,
and the breeze flows from the underarm all the way to the arm, which feels incredibly pleasant.

Since the jacket is puffed up, there’s less contact area, making it comfortable.
And with the cotton blend, it feels “smooth” and pleasant.

The waist is pulled tight
and doesn’t let air escape.

An air-conditioned jacket (fan jacket) is all about tightening the waist.
By tightening it, air flows from the neck and cuffs.

There’s no adjustment possible, but it’s pulled tight and works very well.

“Long sleeve” – the wind passing through the neck feels so good ♪

Wind is sent even inside the helmet.
Waiting at traffic lights is really comfortable.

“It’s so hot” is significantly reduced.
With such high outside temperatures, you can only wear an air-conditioned jacket.

“Short sleeve” vest is also cool in the underarms.

Depending on the opening size and position, the wind flow changes.
“Hmm? Something feels off?” Try adjusting the underarm position.

With long sleeves, “the underarm is just a pass-through” and the wind flows right through without hesitation.

“Short sleeve” vest – please tighten the waist ♪ method

The model I purchased uses the “please tighten ♪ method.”
If this is loose, the wind escapes and effectiveness is cut in half. Tighten it well.

“Short sleeve” vest – wind through the neck is no problem. Helmet compatible

It’s well thought out – you can use the hood while wearing a helmet (work helmet).
*I don’t use it since I use it casually,

but it might be convenient in light rain when things get humid.

“Long sleeve with cotton blend” feels cooler to the touch (´ω｀)

Since these are work clothes, there are various practical uses. I won’t factor those in.

But based on my experience commuting and doing light test rides,
“long sleeve” wins by a landslide (*´ω｀*)
Honestly, I don’t use the short sleeve.
I tried the short sleeve with a cooling inner layer (long sleeve), but
still, the feeling of being wrapped in air with the long sleeve couldn’t be beaten.

The air-conditioned jacket season is almost over.
I might use it for yard work, and in times like these, it’s a good item to keep one of.
