(‘Д’) How are Makita and Bortol different? “Taste comparison?” Convenience, maintenance, and more

Recently I’ve been learning a lot about cooling fans.

I think we might even need a “cooling fan consultant” genre…
The options are so abundant.

Manufacturers, new and old models, compatibility, applications
What we’re looking for is incredibly complex.

So,
I switched from Makita to Bortol.
I happen to have the latest two types of brushless fans on hand.

What’s different and how? I’d like to take a look.
Feel free to reference this for modifications and such!

Each manufacturer’s philosophy

If mounting diameter and DC jacks became standardized,
unit prices would drop further and expandability would increase, making things more interesting…
But
with various adult circumstances, it’s probably not that simple…

Fan mounting method differs

Makita goes click! “Locking type”
Attachment and detachment are very advantageous.

However,
when using it with jackets other than Makita, this feature becomes subtly troublesome
with clothing “too thin and it loosens” “too thick and locking is difficult”

Don’t use it with anything other than our products! I feel that intention strongly.

Bortol is “screw-in type”
You have to turn it several times to attach or detach.

The final screw-in tightness also varies from person to person, so it’s quite fuzzy.
However,
it can accommodate various thicknesses, so it’s more flexible.

“Bortol Fan” can handle thicker materials?

The 8MM in the image is a bit much, but I think you can still secure it.
Around 5MM would be no problem at all .

If you drill a hole in a panel and make a blower, it might be interesting.
Well, people don’t usually do that…

“Makita Fan” Maintenance is ( ；∀；)

First, no water washing. Basically just wipe it.
Removing the cover is subtly annoying and I suspect

“you might break it” if you’re not careful…

A minus screwdriver is essential.

The images make it easy to understand.

If it’s new, the plastic still has good rigidity.

However,

with age, if it’s the first time detaching it, “it might break” is a real possibility
Even if you remove it, you only wipe it, so it might be better not to remove it.

“Bortol Fan” You can wash it directly with water!
This is the best (*´ω｀*)

This is convenient and nice.
Just rinse it lightly and you’re done!

For people who get dirty from dust or grass cutting,
the benefit of being able to clean quickly is huge.

You can wash it casually!

Also, don’t submerge it in water or use high-pressure washing, okay?
Just rinsing with water is sufficient.

If you don’t put the lid on, it’ll break immediately, so be careful.

It’s probably better to hold the lid with your finger (´ー｀)

The Bortol fan is slightly “bulkier” .
It’s not bothersome so far (*´ω｀*)

Looking at the image, the Bortol is slightly “bulkier” .

That’s why when I put a Makita fan in a Bortol jacket, it was tight~

Well,
don’t use it that way! But…

Due to the length difference, they’re not compatible.
The longer one (Bortol) might work with the shorter one (Makita).

Each company really has various designs.
Don’t use them interchangeably! That’s the message.

Well, if something breaks, you won’t know what caused it.

Insert it and twist 90 degrees to lock it.
Any worries about it coming loose or malfunctioning disappear instantly.

I didn’t feel any problems with this,
but after seeing the locking feature, it feels a bit lacking.

Considering maintenance, cord locking, and the variety of jackets available,
I think Bortol is the better choice.

Since I’ve only tried Makita and Bortol,
there might be even nicer options out there?

But I don’t want to spend that much time researching, so I’ll stop here…
