Installing a dash cam is incredibly exhausting.
Just slapping it on takes a second.

It’s just sticking and wiring.
But when you think about future maintenance and such, it’s not that simple.

It really gives me a headache (；∀；)

First, as usual, with the “Temporary D-UNIT+” I determine the camera position.
It won’t operate unless everything is connected and a card is inserted—a safety design, I suppose?

The rear camera bracket looks like this.
As for what’s difficult about making it…

“The time it takes to make” and “the cost.”
Basically, the more elaborate you make something, the more it costs.

The key is achieving
“minimal effort, durability, and decent appearance.”
That’s the goal.

I’m skipping ahead since this is getting long.

I’ve painted it with Gun Coat in off-black.

To remove the front cowl,
I need to remove one bolt that secures the camera.
I’ll make sure to mark it properly in the end.

Due to wiring length issues, I mounted it in the storage compartment.
I drilled a hole for the wiring myself.

So the dash cam cameras are now installed.
From here, the wiring layout is really a pain.

I’d like to attach Kijima’s cool-looking (?)
turn signals to this new cowl.

By the way, adhesive turn signals are not street-legal.
If you get caught, you’re out, so be careful.

I’m jumping ahead again.
The tricky part is securing this turn signal with bolts and nuts.

I punched out a round aluminum plate, threaded M3 holes into it, and fixed the lens.
Then I just secure it with thick double-sided tape “Oni Pita.” That’s all there is to it.

This Oni Pita is no joke.
It sticks really well and doesn’t leave residue when you peel it off.

It’s so good, I really want you to try this gem.

That’s how I installed it.
Next is the wiring layout, and then it’s done with the fork caps.

It’s already June, but the work shows no signs of decreasing (；∀；)
I really wanted to wrap up all the year’s work by June… (wishful thinking)
