Lately I’ve been posting so many blog entries that I’m running out of ideas…
I want to compile past blogs and somehow deal with it.
Still, I just don’t have enough time.
How about charging 10 yen per character for email replies? (*´ω｀*)
In recent years, the “parent-child meter” has become rare, and the early Zephyr had this.
The Zephyr was an awesome bike that was released when the old man was in high school.
There’s an image that the early parent-child is uncool and the later bullet-style is the best,
but after going through about six motorcycle lives,
it has a “super racy” design
that’s neither more nor less than that.
I managed to get this meter through Yahoo Auctions,
and I want to install it, so I’ll do my best.
Everything can be disassembled – what a great era.
The 20th century really was full of dreams~
The trip knob won’t come off! It was screwed in.
That was dangerous…
Different manufacturers and models have different setups, so I’m proceeding carefully.
I’m “the type who wants to start their own bike from zero mileage”
Honestly, the previous mileage doesn’t matter at all.
Because once you swap the meter, you won’t be able to tell anyway on the registration certificate later.
So I reset it to zero.
Basically, meters are “resettable and adjustable.”

*Absolutely no misuse!
It’s useful when you want to match the old mileage during a meter swap.
I also wiped the inside glass and it’s nice and clean now (*´ω｀*)
The GPZ parent-child meter might look cool too.
I basically hate troublesome things, so I’ll proceed smartly.
The wiring is so simple… (very straightforward)
Really, it was a great era…
Simple = Smart = Hard to break
I think that’s what the 20th century was like.
Basically, just swap it out and you’re good.
Just modify the meter side.
It won’t fit… it looks like it should…
The meter bracket is making contact, so I’ll cut it!
This part of the screwdriver seems to be hitting.
I cut the bracket, but…
now the indicator plastic is making contact.
This is hard to grind, so I think I’ll grind the top bridge side instead.
It’s really just a little bit, you know.
Due to time constraints, I’m stopping here for now
