Waking up at 3:30 AM! I’m excited since it’s been a while (*´ω｀*)
From my home to Kanaya Port is about 70km/about 1 hour away. I left at 4 AM to avoid being late and arrived before 5 AM…
4:30 or even 5 AM would have been fine.
It was so boring that I went outside and had coffee while thinking about things. By the way, the ticket office doesn’t open until about 30 minutes before…
It was really cold in the morning, but once the sun came out it got hotter and I kind of regretted wearing my leather jacket. Really! The countryside is really cool in the mornings and evenings, so we only use AC during the day, which is helpful.
Surprisingly, motorcycles aren’t eligible for JAF discounts!
I was staring intently at various price charts, credit cards, and transit cards, when I saw at the ticket counter “JAF members get 10% off” written there, so I quickly downloaded the JAF app and set up my mobile membership card. I had a hard time logging in since it had been a while.
Right away at the entrance I said, “I’m a JAF member!”
Anyway, I bought a ticket and boarded the ferry. The first ferry from Chiba (Kanaya Port) had only 3 cars and 1 motorcycle, so it was like a private charter and was great.
The journey takes 40 minutes! You can really get a taste of traveling
The ferry has a nice breeze and is extremely pleasant. Plus, since it’s early morning, the sunlight is soft and just right.
Watching the land gradually disappear gives you a real sense of traveling.
I prepared it for this tour. I’d been thinking about buying one for a while but couldn’t quite commit.
But once you think of a use for something, you just decide to buy it right away, don’t you?
Nothing too fancy inside, but the lower compartment holds some bigger items. Tool set/electric air pump/mirrorless camera/glasses And in the upper compartment I had deodorant sheets and a hand towel.
What amazed me was that on the way back when it was hot, my leather jacket fit easily inside which was incredible. I was just amazed at the storage capacity beyond my expectations, and I’m really glad I bought it.
Arrived at Yokosuka Kurihama Port! *This is the meeting point
Since there are only three of us total, it’s a peaceful number of bikes. The “Kaneda Bay Morning Market” is open until 7:30 AM, GERUGA goes there frequently, so we made a phone reservation before heading to the location.
I rode on Route 134 for the first time in a while. As always, there’s surprisingly heavy traffic and it moves slowly.
I chose the Kaneda set meal (*´ω｀*) It has quite a bit of volume so I was a little nervous.
We had breakfast and achieved our goal! So what now?
The plan was to drive around Yokosuka a bit before it gets too late… Or maybe take the ferry and go to Decoboco’s new factory?
Since it was still early, we decided to head to Chiba.
We drove around some back roads in Yokosuka, filled up with gas, and boarded the ferry.
The ferry from Yokosuka to Chiba is really convenient
This is what the 9 AM ferry looks like. Considering the traffic on the Aqua Line, taking the ferry is definitely worth it.
The Aqua Line has terrible congestion on weekends and holidays. Plus, the new outlet that opened at the end of June is probably causing even more traffic.
There were probably about 15 other motorcycles on board. The ferry from Yokosuka to Chiba is the best.
But profitability is definitely not high, so prices will keep going up.
I realized that in a bay, there’s almost no waves, and with good weather and climate, you really get that casual travel feeling, which was wonderful.
I got photos of myself riding the bike and was very satisfied.
I can’t take photos of myself, so I’m really grateful.

And so, boom! Decoboco’s new factory arrived!
This log house and factory are located in such a remote area that everyone would definitely think they took a wrong turn.
Since it’s been a while since morning, I was getting a bit tired.
The factory tour ended quickly, so I forcibly took everyone to a nearby café. Of the places I’ve been to so far, “the only one with a concrete parking lot” is Moku Coffee so we decided to go there.
By the way, the new factory only gets NTT phone lines, so be careful about that.
About 20 minutes by bike, 13 kilometers on local roads is pretty close.
So we had coffee and prepared to head back to Tokyo before the Aqua Line got too crowded. First, a gas station. Surprisingly, staffed stations are often closed on Sundays, so you need to be careful in rural areas. And then we headed to the nearest Kensodo Expressway “Mobara-Chonan Interchange” and completed today’s tour.
Once things are arranged, let’s do some light touring and play together.

Oh! These gloves were pretty good. I thought I made a mistake in the morning when it was a bit cold, but they were excellent after that.
The ventilation, fit, and ease of putting on and taking off were all great. And the smartphone responsiveness was exceptionally good, which was very helpful. These gloves will be really useful for the hot season ahead.
