My life is apparently entering its final season, so I’m accelerating everything.
I finally purchased a proper wet blaster. Until now, I’ve been using a “modified high-pressure washer wet blaster” which works reasonably well, but I’ve always struggled with drainage issues and the inability to process large items.
I could have just muddled through within my current capabilities, but… When life has momentum, you just go for it!
That’s why I made this equipment investment. With a wet blaster, I can finish old parts beautifully, and honestly, both customers and workers feel better about it. That’s the kind of work I want to do.
Picking it up at Seino Transportation Kisarazu Branch.
When it comes to machinery pickup, “Kanae Industrial Machinery” is run by the mysterious Itoh, who somehow runs a bar at night.
He helped us during our move, and I asked him again this time to transport and install the equipment.
Since there wasn’t much cargo this time, loading was done in a flash. The air tank is quite tall, so I’ll take the Kenshin Expressway slowly to transport it to the factory.
This time I spent quite a bit: “1,779,250 yen” – whoosh!
You might think I’ll never recoup this investment, “and honestly, I definitely won’t.” I basically run my business based on satisfaction… For a solo shop like this that’s more of a hobby, that’s just how it is, I think.
I believe the people who request my work probably have a similar mindset.
I also added a compressor and air tank.
I bought the small reciprocating compressor as a temporary solution back then, and I’ve been using it for about 23 years now… I think it cost around 100,000 yen back then.
This time I went with a massive screw compressor package. With this, the wet blaster can run full throttle.
The Reborn Square type is usable from 3 horsepower and up. But since the compressor has been in use for quite a while, I really want to use the wet blaster at full power!
That’s why I purchased them as a set. More power = faster processing.
With an air tank capacity of 220 L, I can work with confidence.
I used my precious Dr Pepper Cherry as the auto-drain discharge container.
The electrical work for the compressor is scheduled for next Monday. I should be able to enjoy using it by next week.
Raw material costs keep skyrocketing! Strike while the iron is hot!
If you hesitate when you want to buy something, “prices just keep going up.” Sometimes items get discontinued or production ends, which is really sad.
There was also something I wanted – the Carbeck Splash Shot was temporarily discontinued according to an announcement. I was pretty bummed about it, but then a new model came out??? It costs around 800,000 yen, so I can’t buy it right away, but I’m keeping my eye on it. It appeared on Yahoo Auctions once before, so let me know if you hear anything!
The opening and closing is very smooth with a well-functioning damper. I can’t wait to try it out.
Plus, this product has casters, so I can move it around freely for different uses.
I tested it by putting in a Mitchell 18-inch front wheel. There’s tons of room…
Now I can finish my Mitchell wheels to a shine too (*´ω｀*)
I’ve been watching One Box’s Reborn Wet Blast videos so much I could wear holes in them.
What’s amazing is that it keeps getting upgraded year after year, which is really appreciated. Since it’s been in production for so long, I think it’s incredibly refined at this point.
I want to do various tests once the electrical work is done next week. Just having an easy-to-use tool for cleaning makes a huge difference in the final finish.
