This is partly a personal blog too. A lid from an American-made pail I used long ago. It seals really well and feels pretty nice. What brand was this again??? Ever had that happen?
Basically, this is a lid for ARGEE’s 5-gallon pail. I don’t quite remember why I bought this, but it worked so well that I wanted two more.
The thing is, reviews say “you can’t tell how securely it closes” But it closes incredibly tight. The trouble is, there aren’t many places selling this product. There are similar things on Monotaro, but you can’t know until you buy? So I just bought the same one to be safe.

Living like this, I’ve gotten pretty good at gathering info on storage solutions. I couldn’t remember where I bought this or even what the product was called, so I checked the actual item and searched online, but it’s hard to find?
It might be a bit of a rare item. Everyone loves “MADE IN USA” Just seeing that marking gets me excited. There were similar things on Monotaro, but I didn’t want to buy something that wouldn’t work, so I went with the same one.

There’s no gasket, but you can close the lid very securely. As long as you don’t keep it on its side, I think it won’t leak even with liquid inside.
20L oil pails from ELF or SHELL get a lot of use
Basically, I store barrel polishing media inside the pail. Since lots of oil pails come through, they get a second life.
Press the center and close the lid while letting air out— that’s how tight it is (*´ω｀*) Conversely, if you open and close it frequently, it’s a bit inconvenient .
The lid shape doesn’t fit standard 20L oil pails = can’t stack. When you use it on a regular pail like this, you can’t stack them. But if you want a really secure seal, it’s great.
