It’s suddenly complete (*´ω｀*)
My heart is set on the Zephyr 550 though…
Let me jot down the details briefly.
The engine is an overhaul-completed engine from Bright Logic from quite some time ago.
In other words, it’s a used engine, but we’ve disassembled it.
We’ve done gun coating and lightening work.
The displacement is unclear, but it’s probably 850cc?
The spark plug has been replaced with BR8ES.
The carb is a Mikuni BST36φ from a GSF1200.
Since I was planning to ride it myself, it’s been cleaned up beautifully with wet blasting.
The forks are standard 35φ
Overhauled with wet blasted bottom cases
Checker Flag KYB for that authentic look.
The calipers are also overhauled, and the caliper bolts are Yamaha OEM.
The turn signals are repro GS-type units.
They’re a bit smaller and it’s a classic swap mod from back in the day.
The lens is a multi-reflector (Raybric)
Not some sketchy Chinese knockoff.
Unfortunately, the meter is a GS550 unit.
Since it’s from a different year, the gear position won’t light up.
It’s in miles, so please write it in by hand or apply a Z conversion sticker.
The tachometer is a bit temperamental ( ；∀；)
A quality master cylinder that someone had thrown away has been given a second life.
It has a lever adjuster
The bodywork is relatively high quality (*´ω｀*)
I’ve bought line stickers for the bodywork, so feel free to use them if you’d like.
The rear master and rear caliper are also overhauled.
The rear has new pads and pins.
It also features a nostalgic Yoshimura Speed Flow.
Advantage aluminum swingarm.
The rear suspension I bought at Kari-Ten is brand new (*´ω｀*)
The battery is a brand new Pro Select Battery GEL.
The harness has been rewired with a repro harness.
The regulator has been upgraded to a modern heat-reducing voltage control unit
The turn signal relay has been swapped to the usual Daytona unit
The tube fuses have been changed to mini blade fuses.
It’s subtle, but most of the itchy spots have been taken care of,
so you should be able to enjoy it with confidence.
