Replacing a semi-radial with a semi-radial.
This Yamaha semi-radial is an incredibly good master.
A nipple angle I’ve never seen before.
Since there was no individual part specification for this, I didn’t remove it. (Risk avoidance)
I wish it had been 90 degrees this time… (couldn’t reuse it, so I modified the bracket)
The brake light switch comes as a bonus set, which is nice.
The old semi-radial was 1.25, this time it’s Brembo 1.00. *Cannot be reused
I tried to reuse the bracket somehow… but…
When turning the handlebars, it hits hard.
Should I make a new one? Or rework it? …After deliberating, I decided to go with reuse.
And that’s how the brake side is complete (*´з`)
GR71 Trademark: Big Oil Filter
Any shop that stocks something like this is… pretty hardcore.
We don’t want to stock it, so we’ll just replace the union normally.
Even though the O-ring seating surface size is the same… it’s more than a size larger.
There’s no point in continuing to use this original.
Just replacing the union once brings only good things.
Roughly speaking, it’s about 12MM larger in outer diameter.
Remove the OEM microcapsule and replace it with liquid thread locker before assembly.
This microcapsule always leaves some residue, so this is just a precaution.
And now the oil filter is easy to attach and detach with a “pop” (*´з`)
Since I went with 17 inches, I wanted it a bit longer… so I went with 16T.
Something felt off with the cover assembly.
It goes on, but when I checked, it was hitting and the rear won’t spin.
It’s a bit close… something to watch out for
In the end, I removed the sprocket cover and started grinding it down roughly.
There’s not much material, so I need to be careful.
The problem is resolved, but to be safe, let me check with an endoscope.
It seems to be clearing just fine…
