Dyson Makita Battery Conversion: “Looking Stock?” Wall-Mounted

Good morning.
I’m updating the blog today for all you niche folks out there (；∀；)

The downside of the “Dyson Makita Battery Conversion” is…

you can’t hang it on the wall. This is actually pretty painful when it comes to storage space.
I tried to think of a solution that wouldn’t take much effort or money.

First, you need to have a junk battery on hand…

I happened to find a junk item on Mercari (Mercari).
Plus, they had an 18V 2Ah, so I grabbed it. (¥2,000)

I’m lazy about fabrication and modifications, so I’ll go with adhesive.

Keep in mind you might want to remove it later.
I’ll use:
• Aluminum tape by Nitto
• Dual Lock SJ-3551J
If you stick both sides permanently, “oh, this wasn’t the right spot!” becomes a pain to peel off.
If you put aluminum tape on the base first, peeling it off is super easy!
With a larger contact area, it won’t come off easily.

This technique only works on flat surfaces. It’s surprisingly useful on motorcycles too, so give it some thought.

Having a corner punch like this that can cut up to R10 max will really boost the finish quality.

The battery has areas where the surface isn’t exposed, so I’ll apply the Dual Lock directly.

Since Dual Lock SJ-3551J is top-tier strength, don’t apply it at the same length on both sides. That step difference actually helps when you’re removing it.

This time I stuck it to glass.
Peeling it off the glass side is super easy, so you can change the mounting location whenever you want.

Now it clicks! and locks in place, and you can pop it off with one push.
After all this deliberation, using the battery turned out to be the best approach.
