There’s also a technique using a sidestand diode to light up the indicator.
On Suzuki models where the turn signal indicator lamp is a single unit, the + wires for right and left are connected together.
Even if you replace them as-is,
• Only one side lights up (if polarity-dependent)
• Both sides light up and it becomes a hazard (if non-polarity)
Using a diode like this to make it one-way is also a good approach.

Just replacing the bulbs inside the meter gives you a real “wow!” moment of excitement.

If you don’t want to put stress on the wiring, this should work well.
