We switch between angle-type and standard drills depending on the situation.
Everyone has their own way of working, and it’s good to set up an environment where mistakes are hard to make (*´ω｀*)
First, the 1-2 rotation adjustment works.
Huh? “A drill with only 1 and 2?”
This drill is “rotation adjustment” and “tightening force adjustment” —it’s a wonderful drill that uses two adjustments.
You can even dial in your own preferred settings.
Of course, there’s also a rotation-only mode.
“Tightening force adjustment” —what’s that?
“Rotation plus clutch” is what it is.
As the number increases, the tightening force gets stronger . . . .
or rather, “the clutch engages later” = “it doesn’t slip, so you can tighten securely” —that’s what it means
You might think, “Do we really need such a feature?” but it’s actually quite important.
When I drill stainless steel pipe with a hole saw, if it catches and bites in,
“the drill gets away from you and you might wreck your wrist”
The clutch protects you from that.
Also, “have you ever broken a thin drill bit while poking around?” The clutch covers that too.
“No wrecked wrist” and “no broken drill bits” —it’s absolutely amazing.

Based on how it feels—and sure, the tool being new helps—
the Cordless Drill Driver 18V DF486D seems superior.
Of course, it’s also extremely capable as a regular drill.
